M-Net have become ever-changing in the past year or two, improving their viewers experience at any point possible. Today, the broadcaster has announced that on the first of July, MagicWorld will become a general entertainment channel for the entire family called M-Net Family. The channel will be packed with a variety of high quality international content – from drama and reality series to movies – while some hit local shows and a kiddies programming block will also form part of the great family buffet of entertainment.
“We know that television forms an integral part of home life in our country,” says M-Net CEO for Southern Africa, Yolisa Phahle, “and we’re delighted to bring our audiences a channel that every single member of the household can snuggle up to, at times that are convenient for them. M-Net Family will feature carefully curated content that has proved to be popular family entertainment or that has never been seen on the DStv Family package before. It’s our mission to craft top-notch M-Net channels that excite our kaleidoscope of audiences and M-Net Family is the perfect complement for the array of M-Net general entertainment channels that currently includes M-Net 101, M-Net Edge and M-Net City.”
So what can we expect on this new channel? Well, M-Net have revealed that the new channel will rescreen their soapie The Wild at 15h30 on weekdays which will be followed by The Talk, at 16h00, and the telenovela Champs at 17h00. At 18h00, Manhattan Love Story will screen followed by Masterchef Junior USA at 18h30. The channel will then screen a variety of reality and drama shows that start at 19:30. Among these are America’s Got Talent, Nashville, The Have and Have Nots, Marvel’s Agent of Shield, Night Shift and Red Band Society. How’s that for great content?
I can’t wait to see the new look and feel when the channel officially launches on the 1st of July at 17h00!
