After creating the song back in 2015 and performing it in South Africa back in 2016, the official version of Wizkid and Chris Brown’s ‘African Bad Gyal’ is here. Wizkid has been blowing up ever since he featured on Drake’s massive hit ‘One Dance’ and has joined forces with the likes of Wale, Skepta, Tinie Tempah and Ty Dolla $ign. Now, as he readies his new era, the song everyone has been waiting for is here.

‘African Bad Gyal’ is an ode to the beautiful women of Africa. The song is filled with African beats and Caribbean sounds – something that the star has become famous for. The feel-good track definitely sounds like a hit and his chemistry with Chris Brown elevates the impact of the song. Although I must say it’s a little strange hearing Chris sing in Nigerian pidgin – especially since I doubt he has done research into how the language came to light – he pulls it off. “Baby girl you’re from Angola / Sister from South Africa / Pretty girl, I want to hold ya / Tell that to my ladies out in Nigeria,” Chris croons.

The fact that the song was written and recorded before the star’s international success makes this song special as well. The song is a massive part of Wizkid’s journey into international superstardom which makes it the perfect single off the star’s upcoming album ‘Sounds From The Other Side,’ which drops everywhere on the 14th of July 2017. Wizkid is putting African music on the map and we’re really excited to see where his career takes him in the coming years. We’re also expecting this single to become another massive hit for the star. ‘African Bad Gyal’ is available now on all digital platforms. Get your copy today.
