The third season of DC’s ‘The Flash’ ended off with a bang and as shooting commences on the show’s upcoming fourth season, new characters and plots are being put into place. At Comic-Con this past weekend, The CW confirmed that two South African actors, Neil Sandilands and Kim Engelbrecht will have season-wide roles on the hit TV show.

Deadline confirms that ‘Sandilands will portray DC villain Clifford Devoe, aka The Thinker, a metahuman with a mega mind who embarks on a seasonlong battle with The Flash that pits the “fastest man alive” against the “fastest mind alive.” A true genius, he’s devised an intricate plan to fix all that he deems wrong with humanity.’

Kim will play DC character The Mechanic which Deadline describes as ‘a highly intelligent engineer who designs devices for Devoe. As Devoe’s right hand, she’s the truest of true believers who’ll stop at nothing to help him implement his plan to fix humanity.’

The two are no strangers to Hollywood and have both been building up their careers stateside for a while. Neil has had roles in The 100 and The Americans while Kim has appeared in Dominion and Eye in the Sky. Their new roles, however, are major breakthroughs in both their careers.

The Flash stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allan (otherwise known as The Flash), Candice Patton as Iris West Allen, Tom Cavanagh as Eobard Thawne, Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramone and Danielle Panabaker as Dr. Caitlin Snow. The show is expected to make it’s highly-anticipated return this October.
