They’ve been in the country for about a year and a half and in that space, Starbucks has opened six beautiful stores around the Gauteng region. However, the international powerhouse has no plans to slow down just yet as the brand, alongside Taste Holdings, has announced that they will be opening an exciting new store in Johannesburg’s trendy Melrose Arch on the 18th of October 2017. This announcement comes after the recent opening of stores in Brooklyn Mall and Eastgate Shopping Centre.

Starbucks promises that the upcoming store will be its most exciting yet! The 333sqm store has the capacity to seat 160 people and will offer a Starbucks core bar and will be the first Starbucks store in the country to offer an entirely separate Reserve bar. The core bar serves Starbucks’ core beverages consisting of their 100% Arabica coffee, an expansive fresh food selection, an exciting range of Teavana teas, cold beverages and free high-speed Wi-Fi. The Reserve bar will only serve Starbucks Reserve coffee. These exclusive, small-lot coffees are sourced from around the world and brought to life through a variety of brewing methods including Siphon, Pour-Over, Black Eagle, and the Clover™ machine.

The Starbucks stores around the country are beautifully designed and the Melrose Arch store will be no different. The store draws inspiration from the soil that nurtures our coffee berries and the material and finishes pay homage to the African landscape.

The store will also be a ‘glam stop’ at this year’s Johannesburg Pride event which celebrates the LGBTI community. The event takes place at Melrose Arch on the 28th of October and the new store will be a place where attendees can relax and enjoy a limited time Pride beverage, the Berry Yoghurt Frappuccino.

Starbucks Melrose Arch opens its doors on the 18th of October 2017.
