Local pop star Lakota Silva has dropped a surprising new single this week. After releasing her dark, urban-inspired ‘Blow It Up’ earlier this year, the star is back with a radio-friendly new pop song titled ‘Good Good’ and, as the title suggests, it’s full of the good stuff!

Lakota worked alongside Howard Edward on the song on both the production and the feature and it’s the edgy, catchy, summery single we’ve been waiting for. The star seemed to let go and trust her creative process and the result is a fresh, organic banger. Lakota has that X Factor and her originality shines through the song.

“I wanted to be intentional about what I was writing. I wanted to create a song where I could sing more,” she says. “I also wanted to create a song that I wanted to have fun performing so that’s something that I am really focusing on in this next season. I am very excited about the song because it has a good, positive message and going into summer, there is so much music and the market is going to be so flooded with really good music and I wanted to have a song out there where the lyrical content would be good, that something children could sing about and not always about sex, drugs and rock and roll.” ‘Good Good’ is the star’s best single in ages and it’s great to see her coming back into her own.

The star is also excited for the country to see her new music video which releases in about two weeks from now. “It was shot all around my hood in Cape Town, Like the song, it’s super real and I’m so excited about it!” Now, we wait on that album!

‘Good Good’ is available now on all major digital platforms.
