It’s finally happened! Eminem is preparing the release of his upcoming ninth studio album and dropped the first single off the project today. In true Eminem style, the singer went big with the release of the new single, titled ‘Walk On Water’ and bagged a feature from the one and only Beyoncé!
The track is a beautiful piano ballad which sees the star speak openly about his life and career. “God’s given me all this – still I feel no different regardless,” he raps. “Kids look to me as a god – this is retarded/ If only they knew it’s a facade and it’s exhausted.” Beyoncé shows off her impressive vocal range in the song and, surprisingly, their chemistry works really well. ‘Walk On Water’ is an emotional song and both have the talent and vocal ability to pull off an emotional performance.
While details about Eminem’s upcoming album are still sketchy, the star has announced that he will be taking to the MTV EMA stage this Sunday and may give viewers an inside look at his upcoming album. This marks Eminem’s fourth EMA performance as he returns to the show in London, following his surprise performances of “Berzerk” and “Rap God” that dominated the night at the 2013 MTV EMAs in Amsterdam where he was honored with the night’s esteemed Global Icon Award and also took home the title for “Best Hip Hop” artist.
