It’s been over a year since we’ve had any new music from Jeremy Loops and taking the past two years to build his name and tour internationally, the star is ready to release new music. After months in the studio working on his upcoming second studio album, Jeremy is finally ready to showcase what he has been working on as he releases his highly-anticipated comeback single ‘Waves’.
Jeremy steps outside of his comfort zone on the new single. Tropical music has been incredibly popular over the past few years and the genre has clearly influenced the star. He blends his love for the ocean and the beach with his signature indie sound and adds a variety of impressive African elements to create a rather unique sound. The song sees a new direction for Jeremy and the willingness to experiment and create a new, fresh sound – something that keeps him ahead of the curve. It’s an impressive piece of music that serves as the perfect summer anthem.
“I can’t wait for people to hear this song. I’ve never worked so hard on anything in my life, and though tough, it’s come together beautifully. And the best part is I know what’s coming next. This Is Just the tip of the iceberg,” Jeremy says. The star also dropped a visually pleasing video for the track which heightens the topical element of the track. “I’ve always looked to water for its restorative powers, and there’s something special about a surf and a time out in the water that clears my mind and helps me regain focus,” he admits. “I’ve had a crazy year just making this single and all the other songs on my album, and it’s been a crazy year in general around the world, so we really treated the music video shoot like a work retreat. A reward for the incredible amount of time and effort my team and I have put into preparing for this next chapter for us.”
As mentioned, the song serves as the lead single off Loops’ upcoming second studio album which will be released on the 16th of March 2018. On the album, Jeremy has worked with songwriters such as Jake Gosling who worked with artists such as James Bay, Lady Gaga and Shawn Mendes. The song has already hit the top 10 on the South African iTunes charts hinting that this era will be incredibly successful.
