Local pop sensation Lakota Silva continues to push boundaries and step out of her comfort zone and her new single ‘Good Good’, a collaboration with Howard Edward, is a testament to that. The single has been making an impact on the local airwaves and now, Lakota has dropped a stunning visual for the project.
The video celebrates two of Lakota Silva’s favourite things – her faith and her city. The video was shot in and around Cape Town and celebrates the beautiful streets, landscapes and vibe the city has to offer. “I wanted to create a video that was real. A video true to my authentic, real life. The people in it, the real-life moments, my real-life home city and just a little bit of the bigness that shows my love,” she says.
Local vendors and venues were thrilled to be apart of the video and applauded the star for showcasing the city in all it’s glory. “They were so happy to be part of showcasing snippets of our beautiful Cape Town! We shot at the likes of local vinyl stores, dance studios, quirky restaurants, and outdoor areas director Luke [Veysie] and I wanted to show,” Lakota says. “We were at local water parks, beaches, promenades, underground tunnels and stations! It was important to show and shoot at places that are part of my real life. I wanted everything to be real.”
The star also got a talented group of dancers on board to add another element of the arts to the video. “Rehearsals were easy and fun! The dancers in this video are dancers who have been dancing with me since ‘Do Re Mi’ days! I choreographed something quickly to focus more on everyone enjoying the energy of the music and each other.” Lakota explains. “The video had to all be real life! My vision was for every scene to be authentic to the moment, and Luke captured it beautifully.”
‘Good Good’ is now available to download or stream from your favourite digital music platform.
