On Monday, Ed Sheeran (alongside promoters Big Concerts and AEG) confirmed that that he will finally be making his way to South Africa in March 2019 for his first headline tour of the country – and the excitement was through the roof. In fact, the demand was so high that the star added another Johannesburg date just a day after the announcement. While a few Discovery credit card holders were able to get tickets to the shows early, tickets were officially released on Thursday for the Cape Town show while Friday saw tickets for the Johannesburg shows go on sale.

All the shows sold out just hours after going on sale in what is now one of the fastest-selling concerts in South African history. The demand was so great that Computicket, the show’s official ticket seller, had it’s site crash on multiple occasions which caused much frustration from ticket buyers.

Ed confirmed the exciting sell-out news on his Instagram page with the caption: “All sold out this morning. Can’t wait, South Africa you rock x”. If you’ve got your tickets, get ready for one hell of a show!
