Roan Ash may have only released his debut EP ‘Whisky To My Soul’ but he has already made an impact on a global level. The album has already received attention in the United Kingdom and now, Roan Ash is about to be introduced to a global audience thanks to Apple Music. The streaming platform is a new country music playlist aimed at supporting country performers from across the globe.
“Country Music”, Apple Music’s new hub and playlist of the same name, will celebrate local country artists from places including Ireland, South Africa, Canada, Australia, and more, with a heavy focus on the developing artist community.
On the new playlist, Apple Music has highlighted acts like Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Kacey Musgraves, Luke Combs, The Wild Feathers, Lindsay Ell, Catherine McGrath, Tenille Townes and our very own Roan Ash.
“What an incredible honour it is, to be chosen as an artist for Apple Music’s Country Wide campaign,” says Roan Ash. “It’s not every day that a South African artist gets the opportunity to be featured on this amazing platform. I am forever grateful.”
On the local front, Roan Ash made a massive impact with ‘If I Ever Saw Heaven’, the lead single from his recent EP. The song charted on multiple charts around the country and his latest single ‘Whisky To My Soul’ is anticipated to reach the same amount of success.
Known for his modern country-blues-folk style, Roan started playing guitar in 2001, and in 2006 he began doing live performances. Since then Roan has shared the stage with artists including Dan Patlansky, Matthew Mole Jan Blohm, Koos Kombuis, Arno Carstens, Vusi Mahlasela and more.
The “Country Wide” campaign is now live. Fans can check it out at apple.co/CountryWide
