Alex Aiono released his new single “Big Mistake” on Interscope Records. The song, a firsthand account of a relationship gone awry, showcases the songwriting and vocal skills Aiono’s fans know and love. “Big Mistake” is available now at all digital retailers and streaming services.
Aiono states, “’Big Mistake’ is opening up the next chapter of my career on many levels. I pretty much spent the past two years touring the world, and since have been in the studio writing and recording for this moment. Right before I turned 22, and just as I put my passport on my dresser, I got into my first deep relationship, one that I thought was deeper than it really was. This song ended up writing itself, because as it turned out, the relationship was a big mistake.”
Aiono will debut the song live for the first time this weekend at the 2018 Arthur Ashe Kids Day in Flushing, Queens. He is also returning for the second year as host of the annual event. The Arthur Ashe Kids Day is the largest single-day, grassroots tennis and entertainment event in the world, with chart-topping music acts and today’s best tennis players coming together to celebrate tennis legend and humanitarian Arthur Ashe. Proceeds from Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day benefit the USTA Foundation which helps fund the National Junior Tennis & Learning Network (NJTL), a nationwide group of more than 500 nonprofit youth-development organizations that provide free or low-cost tennis, education and life-skills programming to more than 225,000 children each year, founded 49 years ago by Arthur Ashe, along with Charlie Pasarell and Sheridan Snyder.
