This is the best news! Boney M have solidified themselves as one of the biggest groups music has ever seen. They were one of the highest-selling acts of the 70s and 80s and have released eight incredible albums over their four-decade career. Since then, the group has become synonymous with Christmas with their festive album selling millions of records to date. Now, the group are coming to celebrate with their South African fans this Christmas.
The upcoming shows, which will be held in Cape Town on the 23rd of December and Pretoria on the 24th of December, will be part of the group’s third South African tour. They first appeared in the country during a special 10-show run at Sun City Super Bowl in 1984 before a second a string of Christmas shows across the country in 2011. Now, they’ve got two very special shows just before the holidays.
Liz Mitchell and the rest of the group will be performing hits like ‘Mary’s Boy Child’, ‘Jingle Bells’, ‘Little Drummer Boy’ and many more of the Christmas hits we know and love.
