Get ready, South Africa. Israeli musical sensation Koolulam is making their way to South Africa this weekend as the local Jewish community continue to celebrate Israel’s 70th birthday.
Koolulam is a social-musical initiative aimed at bringing together a large group of people all of who have no background in singing to join together to create a musical sensation. The idea is to stop everything for a few hours and just sing. What makes it unique is that at a Koolulam performance, the audience is the artist, no matter if you can sing or not!
What’s special about the project is that it teaches the audience, most of whom have had no previous singing experience, a song with harmonies, in under 45 minutes. After teaching the song and its arrangements to the audience, everyone comes together to produce a powerful, unified musical creation. The production is videoed and shared to the masses via Facebook, YouTube and WhatsApp.
Koolulam have spent months sourcing the right song for the unique South African audience and we are thrilled to reveal that the song is “I Lived” by One Republic. Koolulam will work their magic to transform and specifically craft the song with new harmonies and rhythms solely for our audience. The song “I lived” is particularly moving and emotive – it’s about living your life to the fullest with hope and no regrets.
