It’s a big weekend for Cassper Nyovest. His highly-anticipated #FillUpMosesMabhida Stadium show takes place on the 1st of December. The following day, the rapper will be one of the many local and international acts taking the stage at the Global Citizen concert at FNB Stadium on the 2nd of December and as the country gears to welcome the long list of high-profile celebrity names, Global Citizen has announced that they will be releasing a four-track EP ahead of the concert – and Cassper Nyovest features on a track.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has curated the project for Global Citizen and the band features on the lead single ‘E-Lo’ under the pseudonym Los Unidades alongside Pharrell and Jozzy. Other acts featured on the EP include Stormzy, David Guetta, Stargate, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and, of course, Cassper Nyovest.

Cassper appears on a track titled ‘Timbuktu’ alongside Los Unidades, Stormzy and Jess Kent and promises to be one of the highlights off the project.

Proceeds of the EP will support Global Citizen’s campaigns and advocacy efforts to end extreme poverty as well as its work in areas such as gender equality, education, water and sanitation.

Of the project, Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans says that “For hundreds of years, we have witnessed the power of music in bringing people together to drive activism and demand change. We are thrilled to release Global Citizen EP 1 with new songs from these incredible artists who stand with us in the fight to defeat extreme poverty, and we are extremely grateful to Dave Holmes, Parlophone Records and Atlantic Records for their dedicated partnership and support as we demand to see an end to extreme poverty by 2030.”
