Prove your humanity: 10   +   5   =

After unleashing the international roast franchise on local personalities Steve Hofmeyr, Kenny Kunene and Somizi, Comedy Central has another exciting roast happening in 2019 – and the SuperMega AKA takes the hot seat this time around.

AKA is undoubtedly one of the biggest acts in South African music today. The ‘Fela in Versace’ and ‘Baddest’ singer recently released his latest album ‘Touch My Blood’ which went gold after just a few days on shelf. He is, and has always been, incredibly public when it comes to his thoughts, feuds and relationships and now, he’s about to face the music when he is put in front of a panel where he is sure to get the ultimate roasting. However, the star will also have the chance to have his final say at the end of the episode – which promises to be spicy!

Can he keep his ‘composure’? Will his epic freestyle flow save him from getting burnt? We guess time will tell!

Luckily, fans will get the opportunity to be at the recording of the roast when it’s filmed next year. Filming of the Comedy Central Roast of AKA in partnership with Showmax will be open to the public and will take place on 21 February 2019 at The Teatro at Montecasino Teatro in Johannesburg. Tickets are available from Computicket for R300.

“Every roast before this was practice. Take a seat, Bon Appetite,” AKA says. Meanwhile, Dillon Khan, Vice President for Comedy Central and Creative Services at Viacom International Media Networks Africa (VIMN Africa) says that “The Comedy Central Roast is a SUPER occasion that gives the audiences a MEGA opportunity to see their favourite celebrity being placed in a hot seat, confronted by some of SA’s big names. So who better to Roast than the one and only Supamega? If AKA has ever roasted you on social media, then here is your baddest break to see the punisher burn under pressure.”

Get ready – this is going to be a scorcher!
