Ed Sheeran has just completed the Johannesburg leg of his Divide World Tour and after two incredible sell-out performances at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, the star is ready to jet off to Cape Town for another two high-energy performances there. However, the star has also made a point to enjoy everything South Africa has to offer. The superstar was spotted enjoying some cricket at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg donning a Proteas jersey where Ed watched the final T20 between South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Ed has always made a point to take in everything a country he is visiting has to offer and being a massive cricket fan, he was super excited to attend the T20 final while on tour. Naturally, South Africans around the country were thrilled to see the star supporting the local team during the match with Sri Lanka.

However, Ed made it very clear that he is still an English supporter through and through. “Went to watch some South African cricket today. Excuse the shirt please if you’re English, I was caught up in the moment, you understand yeah? Cool,” he captioned an Instagram post with images from his day out.

This is the second time in two days Ed has supported a South African sporting squad. Close to the end of the first night of the Divide World Tour in Johannesburg, Ed came out wearing the official South African rugby jersey which was received with a wild roar from the audience as he burst into his performance of ‘Shape Of You’.

Ed will be continuing his South African tour at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday 27 March and Thursday 28 March. Limited tickets for Thursday’s show are still available at www.bigconcerts.co.za
