Over the past few months, Josh Kempen has been working on the follow-up to his impressive debut album ‘The Morning Show’ and now, he’s ready to begin his next era. This week, the singer dropped ‘Need Some Company’ and joins forces with Soulphiatown for what is a surprising yet beautiful new direction.

After a writing hiatus in Australia, Josh Kempen returned to South Africa with a bunch of songs and a determination to stay true to his sound whilst embracing his home culture and teaming up with a group like Soulphiatown was imperative for Josh – especially on this single.

“I could never really describe the sort of journey it was to write this song. Although it’s about mistakes, nostalgia, and loneliness, today it fills me with hope. That’s the alchemy that music is capable of. It can transfer suffering into a kind of triumphant temple of love. Until today I didn’t really understand that. I hope ‘Need Some Company’ touches your lives in the same way it has touched mine,” Josh tells us adding that he’s really excited for his fans to hear the new music he has been working on. The single serves as the first taste of the star’s upcoming album which is set to drop in the next few months. Josh has already filmed the track’s official music video which is scheduled to be released soon.

‘Need Some Company’ is now available on all major digital music platforms. Support local music and download or stream it today.
