While she has been dominating the airwaves with her Tellaman and Nasty C-assisted new single ‘Whipped’, Shekhinah has been laying low over the past few months. Besides a presenting stint at this year’s South African Music Awards, the star hasn’t made many public appearances or had any performances and now, the songstress opens up about her short hiatus from the industry.
The star took to Twitter to reveal that she “”Had surgery. Three days all went well. [They] removed nodules and my tonsils, as well as fixing my sinus. Doctor had booked me off for three months.” Skekhinah adds that the rest has done her well but that she’s excited to return to the entertainment space soon. “July is my last month off, then I’m back. It’s been frustrating and challenging at the same time. [I’m] so excited to be back for the summer though.”
The star is reportedly ready to start working on the follow-up to her award-winning debut album ‘Rose Gold’ and we’re glad to see her on the mend. Now, bring on some new music!
