After weeks of battling it out against other contestants and being groomed by her coach, rocker Francois Van Coke, Tasché Burger has been crowned as the winner of the third season of the popular reality show The Voice South Africa. The 19-year-old is the first female winner of the show after Richard Stirton and Craig Lucas won the previous seasons of the show and went on to become massive pop stars.
The singer quickly became a fan-favourite on the show and striked up quite the friendship with her mentor during the season. Tasché got a four-chair turn during the blind auditions when she performed the Afrikaans hit ‘Lisa Se Klavier’. Week by week, Tasché has continued to work and build on her talent and subsequently scored the highest number of votes, earning her the title of the third season’s winner.
The win sees Tasché walk away with a recording contract with Universal Music South Africa, a Toyota RAV4, a Telkom tech bundle with a Huawei P30 Pro, a Tab M5 Lite, a router, and a Huawei Watch GT, Telkom data, and an Anti-Theft Backpack and a Truworths clothing vouchers to the value of R100 000. The star will start working on her debut album soon and while she still needs to decide on what her sound will be, she has confirmed that she is excited to work with her mentor and coach on a collaboration.
There were almost 10 million votes cast the course of this season and the voting results were independently computed by Deloitte and Touche. Congrats, Tasché!
