With just under a month to go until the 2019 Miss South Africa pageant takes place at the Sun Arena in Pretoria’s Time Square, the organization has confirmed that South African media personality and style icon, Bonang Matheba, will once again return as host.

Bonang has had a long association with Miss South Africa and was part of the judging panel in 2014 which officially crowned Rolene Strauss, who later went on to be crowned Miss World. The trendsetting TV and radio star, author and philanthropist says she is delighted to be hosting the 2019 event once again: “I feel very honoured to be part of this two-hour spectacular particularly as it is taking place on Women’s Day.”

The star has also announced that her House of BNG MCC will also serve as the event’s official celebration sponsor. “The House of BNG has been a passion project of mine for a long time. It’s no secret that bubbly is my favourite drink, so getting the chance to make my own MCC was an opportunity I couldn’t miss out on!” she says.

There is close to R3 million in prize money and sponsorships for this year’s glittering Miss South Africa pageant, with the winner walking away with R1 million in cash as well as other fabulous prizes. The runner-up will take home R250 000 in cash, and all 16 finalists receive R25 000.
