After one of the best years in the festivals history, Rocking The Daisies is getting concert goers excited for next year’s edition of the festival with an early headliner announcement – and it’s a big one. Stormzy, one of the biggest rappers in the world right now, will be making his way to South Africa to celebrate the festival’s 15th anniversary.
Next year’s festival will take place between 2 – 4 October and will celebrate everything you love about music, discovering spaces and meeting the most amazing people on Earth.
In 2014, Stormzy garnered attention on the UK underground music scene through his Wicked Skengman series of freestyles over classic grime beats. As the first black solo British citizen to headline Glastonbury Festival on the Pyramid stage, Stormzy made history, donning a custom stab-proof vest by iconic modern artist Banksy, and he is ready to make history once again as he takes to the stage at South Africa’s biggest three-day music experience, his first performance in South Africa.
2019 has been a big year for Stormzy. He recently featured on Ed Sheeran’s latest single ‘Take Me Back To London’ and dropped a string of singles including ‘Sounds Of The Skeng’ and ‘Own It’ with Ed Sheeran and Burna Boy. He is also expected to drop his brand-new album ‘Heavy Is The Head’ on 13 December 2019.
Stormzy is the first of many act announcements expected leading up to the festival but it’s clear that in 2020, Rocking The Daisies is celebrating their 15th milestone in style.
