Local indie legends, the Kongos, have had an incredible year. They released two albums, “1929 Part 1”, and ‘’1929 Part 2’’, a 10 part documentary series, “Bus Call”, which follows their story and gives a compelling and realistic window into life on tour. The brothers also host a weekly podcast, “The Front Lounge”, where they discuss music, ideas and more with guests that include other musicians, artists, touring professionals and entrepreneurs. Now, they’re excited to be heading back to South Africa to perform their brand-new songs for their home audience for the first time.
The Kongos will be heading to Johannesburg for a much in demand live concert performance at the Barnyard Rivonia Theatre in Johannesburg on Friday 1st May 2020. Johnny, Jesse, Dylan, and Danny are eager to get back to South Africa after an absence of a number of years. Extensive international touring and recording commitments have demanded their full attention, but they have always retained strong connections with their South African fan base, that will undoubtedly be delighted to see the band take to a local stage again with a full-scale rock production.
Tickets for their Johannesburg show is now available at the Barnyard Theatre website.
