It’s been one year since Sho Madjozi dropped her impressive debut album ‘Limpopo Champions League’ and became an international phenomenon. Now, to celebrate the first anniversary of the album that changed her life, Sho Madjozi has premiered a fun music video to ‘Kona’ – one of the biggest tracks off the record.
The colourful music video is a celebration of the province that raised the superstar and features a variety of well-shot, cinematic scenes and, as always, the singer shows off her impressive dance skills. Filmed both in the superstar’s village in Limpopo and Los Angeles, the video sees the star honouring her roots while also looking to the future as she hopes to bring her unique sound to the world stage. The video begins with the star getting her hair braided while a group of people tell the star that she won’t make it in Johannesburg looking the way she does. The scene is narrated in XiTsonga, Sho Madjozi’s home language, and sees the star adamant to stay true to the roots while making it big both locally and around the world.
In a recent Instagram post, Sho Madjozi said; “Limpopo Champions League turns 1 today (14th December 2019). This album has produced 1 platinum single (Huku), 1 gold single (Wakanda), 2 SAMA Awards and 1 BET Award. It has put me on stages around the globe and got me on the covers Elle, Cosmopolitan, Bona etc. Happy birthday #LimpopoChampionsLeague
