Over the past few years, the Graeme Watkins Project have been responsible for a string of hits. While the group has been keeping a low profile over the past few years, the band has been working on new music. However, the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic has put a halt on all concerts and other crowded recreational events brought to a halt, Graeme has been working on some solo material – and we’re getting our first taste this week!

The star took to his social media pages to reveal that he will be releasing his debut solo single ‘Sober’ on 1 May 2020 and that he’s excited to be bringing new music to fans around the country. However, Graeme has ensured that the band has been instrumental in the track’s creation process and will continue gigging once it is safe to do so.

“On Friday I begin a new journey. I release my first solo stuff. The band is still very much a part of the live element and guiding me in my songwriting and production, but I’m very excited for this new direction. It will be released under my solo name, but when we are able to play again, you will still get myself, Ryno Zeelie, Matthew Marinus and Tjaart Van Der Walt,” Graeme says. “They’ve all been monumental in the support and production process and I’m so stoked to have such a solid team by my side.”

‘Sober’ premieres on all digital music platforms on 1 May 2020.
